Refine for Meta Muse
Ask Muse how your brand shows up in AI answers.
Connect Refine to Muse in two minutes. Then ask about your visibility on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity the way you would ask a colleague, and get answers from your own data.
in one chatConnect it
- 1
Create an API key
In your Refine dashboard, open the MCP settings and create a key. It starts with rfn_live_ and is shown once, so keep it at hand.
- 2
Paste this into Muse
Muse has no settings page for this: you ask it in the chat, it builds the connector and saves it for next time. When it asks for the token, paste your key into its secure prompt, not into the conversation.
Message for MuseBuild a custom connector for Refine, my AI search visibility tool. It is an MCP server over streamable HTTP at: https://app.refine-app.com/api/mcp/mcp It authenticates with a bearer token in the Authorization header. Ask me for the token with your secure credential prompt, then list the tools it exposes.
- 3
Ask your first question
Muse should list fifteen Refine tools. From there, just ask.
What to ask
- “What is my mention rate on ChatGPT this month, and how does it compare to last month?”
- “Which competitor is named most often instead of us, and on which prompts?”
- “Show me what ChatGPT actually answered on my weakest prompt.”
- “Which pages does Perplexity cite when it talks about my category?”
- “Add these five prompts to my tracking and tag them Pricing.”
- “Draft a blog article for the prompt where we lost the most visibility.”

Questions
- Is this an official Muse connector?
- Not yet. Muse lets you build a custom connector from any public MCP server, and Refine’s is one. Meta does not review custom connectors, so only give Muse a key you can revoke: you can, at any time, from your Refine dashboard.
- Which Refine plan do I need?
- Visibility or above for the data, prompts and competitors. Writing content from Muse needs Autopilot.
- What can Muse see?
- One brand, the one the key belongs to: its prompts, competitors, visibility history and the AI answers we recorded. Nothing from your Search Console, GA4 or CMS accounts.
- Does it work outside Muse?
- Yes. The same server works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client. See the integrations page. Integrations.
